Revised Thumbnail Creator for the Revolution Pro Theme
April 3, 2008 by wavenumber
Some people were experiencing problems with the original thumbnail generator. Automator is not exactly a robust piece of software making debugging not much fun.
I’ve broken the original application in three parts with a main workflow calling each one in turn. Although this is less elegant and a bit more complicated to install, it should be more reliable.
The download now consists of folder containing 4 mini workflows. Here’s how to get it working:

1) Download the folder to where you want it on your disk (in the Documents folder, for instance).
2) Using Automator, open the master workflow, called “RevoProIcons_ColorOSNoBorderNoTrim”
3) You should see 3 actions called “Run Workflow” in the script, each has a drop-down menu to select another workflow. In those menus, select “Other” and then the corresponding file in the folder you saved in step (1), i.e., “TopFeaturedIconNoTrim” in the first menu, “BottomFeaturedIconNoTrim” in the second, “SideFeaturedIconNoTrim” in the third.
4) Save the file as either an application or as a plug-in, depending on how you want to use it.
Hopefully this should work with most computer setups out there. I’ll try to revise the utility and upload it as a single workflow/plug-in when I have time.
